ASTAXANTHIN - THE MIRACLE OF THE SEA

Astaxanthin is a natural, reddish pigment that belongs to the carotenoid class. It is mainly produced by the green alga when it is exposed to severe stress such as solar radiation and drought. It forms a red film of moisture to protect the algae from drying out. By eating the algae, it is also responsible for the red coloring of crustaceans.

It is one of the strongest natural antioxidants contained in algae and works wonders for our skin and body. It is said that it should work a lot better than, for example, B-carotene and even have a much stronger antioxidant effect than vitamin E. Due to its high antioxidant effect, astaxanthin is a natural sunscreen. It reduces the negative effects of excessive UV radiation and is anti-inflammatory and has a dual anti-wrinkle effect:

1. it protects the collagen in the skin from damage caused by free radicals.

2. it inhibits collagen-degrading enzymes that are activated by stress. Astaxanthin stimulates the skin's own collagen synthesis and ensures a smooth complexion and firm skin in the long term.

In addition to astaxanthin, the ingredients of our cosmetics include the patented green algae "Jade Algae", plankton, Ectoin - Blue Light (microorganisms from the ice of the Arctic) and sea salt. The raw materials come mainly from France and Brittany and are Ecocert, COSMOS compliant and partially certified organic.
